We are excited to have Heather Lindenmeyer as our new Principal of Gifford Grade School. She comes to Gifford from St. Joseph-Ogden High School, where she spent the last seven years as an English teacher. While at SJO, Mrs. Lindenmeyer also served as the English department chair, a mentor teacher, a school improvement team member, and received the Masonic Lodge Teacher of the Year award in 2022.
Mrs. Lindenmeyer brings 18 years of teaching experience to Gifford Grade School. She received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English as well as a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, all from Eastern Illinois University. In April 2024, she received the EIU Distinguished Graduate Student Award for Educational Leadership.
Mrs. Lindenmeyer is originally from Bethany, Illinois, and now lives in rural Urbana with her husband Jordan, son Jackson, and daughter Johanna. She looks forward to becoming a part of the GGS team and meeting everyone who makes GGS such a great school.

Thanks to the generous donations from our read-a-thon, here are some of the new books we've purchased for the library! 📚
Third Grade Market Day will take place on Tuesday, May 21st from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
The Third Grade class will be selling handmade goods and services to raise money for
charity. The profit from the Market Day Event will be given to the
Champaign County Humane Society. Gifford Grade School students can shop the Market Day Event during their designated class time. All items and services are $1 or less--please bring no more than $4. Why? Third grade is wrapping up their Economy Unit. This Market Day Event will give them hands-on experience! They will also be practicing their money counting skills and business etiquette.
